2015 Mahindra Scorpio launched in India at Rs 7.98 lakh
The new Scorpio is here in the form of the next generation model from Mahindra. It may look like a facelifted variant because there are a lot of resemblances to the outgoing Scorpio. However, this 2015 model features an all-new chassis that will now be used in all future body on frame Mahindra models including the soon to be launched next generation Bolero.
The new Scorpio is available in six variants namely – S2 (featuring the 2.5-litre m2DICR engine) S4, S6, S6+,S8 and S10 that use the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel.
In terms of features, the new face gets dual headlamps with a projector unit in the S8 and S10 variants. The LED eyebrows are standard only in the top S10 variant. The front grille is a floating type hexagonal unit while the functional bonnet scoop is new too. Other features include a new bezel on the fender, LED taillamps and 17-inch wheels. The rear tailgate and window are new too. The interior is similar but the dashboard is all-new. Quality has improved while fit is much better. Features like a 6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation is standard in the S10 variant.
The new suspension has improved the ride while the increased track has decreased the turning radius. 4WD is optional in the S4 and S10 variants. There is no automatic transmission offered even as an option yet.
